This town has progressed significantly within short time span of two to three decades as people from surrounding small villages have settled in here owing to better academic, business, infrastructure and social facilities.Chillianwala Station Chak No. 1 is historically interlinked to the village of Chillianwala on account of name given to the railway station built on Lalamusa - Malakwal / Sargodha railway link. Due to railway line and efficient road network, the town is conveniently commutable to and from important cities, such as, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Lahore and Islamabad. In order to solve the identity problem of this town, a new name Hayyat Abad has been proposed. The people live in “traditional” village-based clan (baradri) system. Famous clans are Langrial, Mogul, Toria and Gujjar.
