Cafe Culture Hunza 3.1

Café Culture Hunza, based in Altit Village Hunza, is a pioneering effort by a trained professional and their family to serve authentic central Hunza cuisine to travelers to and locals of the central Hunza Valley.

Launched in 2015, the café provides on-site, on-demand food to travelers and visitors who drop by, and also caters on-demand to hotels, and local guests houses for their clients, and institutional clients for their employees.

The food is mostly handmade, freshly made on order at home and served immediately. Most traditional food is to be consumed fresh within an hour or so, and no left over. Local mostly organic ingredients are used. We use spices and produce from our own gardens and fields where possible, giving you a verifiable farm-to-fork experience. Hygiene and professional presentation is assured.

Materials for the items on the menu are sourced fresh and daily and not stored for long (unless dried); it takes at least a half hour lead-time for most items to be ready, and longer for when there are orders in queue. Expecting clients are informed of a possible lead-time, but this being a homemade effort from a family kitchen in a mountain village, we hope that we are excused for any lapses. We are willing to make adjustments on-the-go, and grant customizations and alterations where possible. Speak freely to us of your dietary restrictions, wishes and needs.

We will also customize your experience as well as we can, serving you in places we can arrange or deliver to, altering the settings as well as we can. (Add candles and flowers or other enhancements to your experience. Or alter spice ratio, or give you a preferred type of meat in meat dishes.) By the same token, sometimes, some of the demands cannot be met within the expected time and budget or needs frame; and we will inform you of it.

Dining with us is therefore an engaged experience; as dining in small tourist villages traditionally is. Café Culture Hunza, Altit-Village (ask for us to cater to you elsewhere in Central Hunza/Karimabad) therefore gives you a truly lovable and relate-able homely but professional food experience.

IN ADDITION TO SERVING THE TRADITIONAL HUNZA CUISINE, we also prepare some popular traditional Pakistani dishes from other parts of the country. This caters to the needs of the local and foreign tourists alike. Look for the Traditional Pakistani Dishes section on our menu. Finally, we complete your food experience by helping you obtain the “regular” food completion items you may be used to back home: Commercial Soft Drinks; and other off-the-shelf items such as pickles. Ask, and we will obtain where available (local market timings and availability apply for urgent orders).
