Balochistan Sustainable Development Society (BSDS), formed in 1998, is a Pakistani NGO based in Balochistan, Quetta. The organization has many areas of interest and would like to carry out participatory community development activities in the fields of education, health, Hygiene sustainable livelihoods, natural resources management, disaster management, Environment, Alternate Energy, prevention, strengthen,empower & mobilization of communities, to Promote the cultural programme etc. with various national and international partners.

NATURE OF THE SOCIETY

The society will be run on Non-commercial, Non-religious and Non Political basis. The society shall confine its activities only to the aims and objectives of the society and the income and prevent of the society form whatever sources derived shall be applied solely towards the promotion of the objectives of the society.

2. AIMS & OBJECTIVES Of THE SOCIETY

1. To carry out participatory community development activities in the fields of education, health, sustainable livelihoods, natural resources management, disaster management, Environment, Alternate Energy and prevention etc.

2. To mobilize and organize the local communities to empower them to take initiative for their equal and active participation in the development process.

3. To build the capacities of the local community organizations to develop their organizational strength and leadership skills.

4. To mobilize local communities and building their skills towards sustainable livelihoods, community based natural resource management and disaster management and mitigation.

5. To create awareness, mobilization and sensitization on the local, national and international socio-economic issues, plans, policies, programs and projects affecting the poor communities, their lives and livelihoods.

6. To undertake advocacy / campaigns to sensitize and influence the governments, institutions/ agencies and policy makers to change their attitudes, policies and practices in the favor of poor people.

7. To carry out community based research, information and knowledge sharing and networking to strengthen the civil society partnerships and alliance building for participatory and sustainable development.

8. To promote and encourage the development of local indigenous treatment through modern research and establish institutes and control all educational, environmental institutions establish the society and affiliated the society.

9. To establish / open and maintain educational, IT centers, undertake environmental control measures, public museums. Art Galleries and cultural programs.

10. To provide, and bring awareness among community the use of alternate energy, safe drinking water, health and hygiene importance.

11. To provide awareness on right based education. Agriculture, Environment and legal aid.

AREA OF OPERATION

The area of operation shall be province of Balochistan and its Neighboring areas in Pakistan.
