THE FOUNDER
Dr. Ramzan Ali Syed was the first professor of Ophthalmology at the King Edward Medical College Lahore 1948-1958 which now is a university. The first one to demonstrate Disseminated Sclerosic amongst our people, as was the pioneer to perform a “Successful corneal graft/Transplant in the Subcontinent his Clinical revolutionary Surgical Techniques in the field of Ophthalmology. He yielded three World Shattering operative techniques in the field of Ophthalmology Surgery. The Founder president of the ophthalmic society of Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Ramzan Ali Syed represented Pakistan at various medical meetings abroad. He also started post Graduate Ophthalmic courses at The University of the Punjab.

Professor Ramzan Ali Syed is the pioneer founder of renowned Ali Hospital. This Hospital was initially established as the first fully equipped, state of the art, private Eye hospital in the early 1960,s. due to president and unfading efforts, the hospital gained worldwide acknowledgment and catered not only for domestic but international eye patients. The Ali hospital is instituted at 21 Temple Road Lahore Pakistan and kept on gaining worldwide success for over three decades till professor Ramzan Ali Syed breathed his last. To keep the legend alive, his youngest son, Dr. Afzal Ali Syed along with his wife Syeda Anees Fatima took the hospital to the next level. They not only upgraded and enhanced eye care at world class level but also converted the hospital into a well-diversified Eye Hospital after the great and world renowned eye legend, Professor Doctor Ramzan Ali Syed, and incorporated as the Ali Eye Hospital.
