The Organization is a leading grass root, multi-sectoral, non-profit, developmental and registered civil society non-government entity. It is making its efforts since 2004 in Socio - economic development for the poor segment of the society coupled with ensuring Sustainable Development in rural areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan through community participation. A seven member cabinet and 09 executive member governs the affairs of the organization. The cabinet members are policymaking and also approve fund while the executive members are entrusted with managerial and implementation role. The Organization has a legal status and was registered in 2008 under the “Society Act 1860”. Its Registration is 154/5/5611.
The organization have had its credit 10 years of field experience with the local community, and working relationship of National organization like, CCBs, and Local Government Departments (TMAs) through a participatory approach in the following Sectoral Activities:-
Welfare Program.
Micro credit schemes
Income generation schemes
Awareness and Advocacy Programs
Agriculture & Livestock with Infrastructure Schemes.
Saving Programs
The schemes entailed sanitation and drainage initiatives, Street pavement, construction of community latrines, Pulley hand pump Installation for clean drinking water supply, Digging of Irrigation tube well, Irrigation channel, Building construction for women skill center, Building construction for 5 Local diesel flourmills with Installation expertise and leveling of uneven and barren lands with plantation.
The organization has Clear concept and transparent methodology for any member of the community and well-experienced cabinet members and each member will have the belief of participatory, democratic decision & accountability

A world, free of poverty, where everyone enjoys fundamental rights and human development to lead a life of dignity and honour without discrimination on the basis of creed, race, ethnicity, language, gender and nationality.

Mission:
Promote effective partnership among organisation and individuals through dialogues, exchange of views, resources and experiences sharing and efforts to build common perspective for eradication of poverty and human sufferings.

Implementation Approach:
AWSI’s implementation approach entails the effective correlation among the civil society organizations (CSOs), governmental public agencies and communities. The core bond among all three spheres makes it all natural, effective and sustainable implementation for every minor and major intervention across every sector of human and social development.
AWSI’s implementation strategy is highly interactive and focused public- private partnership model which enables all core stakeholders of every sphere to effectively share their part in achieving the ultimate sustainable development.
Good Governance through Community Development:
One of the most focused areas of AWSI interventions is to ensure community development approach in a participatory way and capacity building of local community and CBOs in good governance at the village, UC and District level. In order to ensure the effectiveness of the approach, AWSI team supports local community in formation of local community organizations (COs). The following methodology is followed during formation of COs.
Orientation / sensitization of local community
Identification of local activists
Formation of community organizations
Capacity building of COs through Community Management Skills Training (CMST) and Leadership & Management skill training (LMST) trainings
Registration with social welfare department and account opening
Linkages development with District line agencies
AWSI facilitated 150 CBOs at KPK and serves as strong voice of the local inhabitants and various agencies shall utilized the COs for developmental activities at their vicinity.
Establishment of Women Economic Empowerment Network:
AWSI has taken initiatives through its economic empowerment program in the realm of Micro-finance / entrepreneurship to help women at grassroots level, with the objective to cater their financial needs so as to help empower them economically. In this regard project plan has been developed to establish a Women Economic Empowerment Network in different target communities, especially vulnerable community. In this regard the project will cover, providing training on art of small business enterprise, marketing strategies, modification of our handicrafts as per national and international needs. This will also cover financial support on easy terms to establish their own business within their available capacity, last but not the least training and skill development program for potential women entrepreneurs.
