AGENCY PROFILE

In the latter part of 1960’s, economic growth in the province of Surigao del Norte began to flourish. The economic boom brought about establishment of various industries and commercial businesses.

In the business world, management task is often broad and extensive. Running its affairs is arduous. It even becomes more difficult if one has to worry about the safety and security of the business implements and premises, as well. At that time, the management had to provide security of its own premises because there was no security company that operated in the province of Surigao de Norte.

Realizing this need, the idea of establishing a locally based security company was conceived. It flowed out from the mind of Cruz S. Yuipco, Jr. who in his public life has contributed much for the advancement of the province and city of Surigao. As a holder of the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, he specialized in the filed of economic and is a firm believer of the concept called “shared-responsibility”. Mr. Yuipco believes that in order to effectively address the challenge and obstacle in business administration, a company need to direct and focus to its effort more on the financial aspects than domestic matters like security, peace keeping and the like. These should be at the disposal of those who can handle the matter with less control and direction from the management.

Hence, Yuipco Security and Watchman Agency (YUIPCO SECURITY) came about. It started its operation on June 3, 1969, the first and therefore the oldest security agency established in the city of Surigao.

YUIPCO SECURITY has gone a long way, starting with just 15 security guards, now it has more than 300 in the roster. In 1980, YUIPCO SECURITY was acclaimed as one of the 10 most outstanding taxpayers of Region 10. YUIPCO SECURITY is also a proud recipient of various other commendations and awards.

The year of 1986 was a landmark of prestige. YUIPCO SECURITY was engaged to send forty (40) security guards to Marindugue Mining and Industrial Corporation – Surigao Nickel Refinery (MMIC-SNR) to augment the company guards’ forces when Asset Privatization Trust (APT) and Development Bank of the Philippines sequestered the entire refinery. YUIPCO SECURITY even extended service to the people of Nonoc when the disastrous typhoon “Nitang” hit the island.

YUIPCO SECURITY is adept in the implementation of its policies. It also conforms strictly to the laws and regulation of the government, more particularly to RA 5487, otherwise known as “The Private Security Law”, PD 1919 and corresponding implementing guidelines of the Philippines National Police.

In 1995 the Management decided to expand its operation to other province in the country thus, paving the way of the opening of a branch in Cebu. Successful in branching out, in 2002, YUIPCO SECURITY also expanded its operation in Metro Manila.

Today, YUIPCO SECURITY continues to improve the quality of the services it has set before. For over four decades of existence, it has proven its worth to the public as a leading security agency where it is known to be the widest provider of Security services in the entire province of Surigao del Norte with branches in other provinces and cities in the country.
