Yakitate Pork Chop House
One of the best pork chops I have ever tried isn’t found in the rows of cafes along Bonifacio High Steet nor the upscale Greenbelt restaurants. It can be found in an unassuming street close to the heart of San Juan – P. Guevara (going toward Pinaglabanan) before you hit the Post Office of San Juan.

Their chops has just the right marinade to it. It has that smoky barbecue flavor with a hint of spice. The fried rice that comes along with the pork chops is equally as tasty (makes you wonder what they put in that stuff) The rice also has a slight toasty texture. Nice Touch! This all for the price of under Php. 50 for the pork-si-log. They also have other items worth trying such as longganisa, tapa and adobo among others. Their longganisa is also worth trying because of its nice combination of sweetness and spice. Its crunch on the outside and softness in the inside adds up to the overall yumminess of the longgas.

Since its main clientèle are mostly construction workers and other blue-collared workers, I suggest you get the food to-go and enjoy it in the peace and quiet of your home. I personally don’t mind eating at this place. It brings me back to the ground.

Below is a photo of Yakitate’s facade. I shall not post photos of the food as its presentation does not merit it for posting (its how it tastes man and not the way the food is presented)
