Founded on June 1, 1987 with DepED Government Recognition (Regi">St. Dominic Academy, Incorporated is an educational institution which objective is to uplift quality of graduates in the basic education by way of developing their spiritual and positive attitude, develop their intellectual, verbal, numerical, language and psycho-motor skills. It is also concern with the improvement of self-confidence, self-expression and self-discipline.

In 1988,the school is named prior to St. Dominic Academy Incorporated as Sto. Domingo Learning Center. It is 700 meters away from the National Highway and situated at 28 Model Homes Subdivision, Barangay Pampanga in the City of Davao. It is accessible particularly to the home owners of nearby subdivisions. The school site is very conducive to learning and safe, it is far from any shopping malls, gambling establishments or factories.

Moreover, the school population was only 13 from Nursery to Kindergarten 2 when it started and was only situated in a one storey two-bedroom house. It was facilitated back then up until now by Mrs. Purificacion A. Orejudos with the support of the board of trustees headed by Atty. Virgilio A. Abueme. As years passed, the school expanded and built its own building in an almost 700 square-meter lot which is a proposed 3 storey building and has 6 rooms in each floor. At present, we are now a 2 storey building and will eventually finish the last floor in the near future. The school facilities aid the students in achieving quality knowledge, the rooms are well ventilated, the grounds are surrounded by fence, has fire exits and installed devices for overall safety.

Furthermore, St. Dominic Academy Incorporated was recognized under the law of Republic of the Philippines with Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) Registration No. DN094-000351 and after 10 years, Government Recognition was granted by the Department of Education with no. 004 series of 2004. The core curriculum of the school is to act in response to the children's necessitate of the innovative millennium and focus with the language development which relates to the competencies in pressing one's ideas and feelings both in English and Filipino. It includes capability of expression and basic readiness skills in listening, reading, writing and recently, it includes visual comprehension skills. It also engage personal, social and value transformation which includes independence, sociability and morality. The school also aims to build up proper behavior in relation to God, Self, Community and Country.
