Santiago Island is a Philippine island with white sands beaches found off Bolinao,Pangasinan.The island is known for being good place for fishing and scuba diving as well as for its historic significance as the first area in Pangasinan to be discovered and occupied by the Spaniards.The island has historically been a refuge for slaves who have escaped the many smugglers and pirate ships that has frequented the area over the years.In addition,the island is some environmental significance,being a site frequented by migratory birds as well as having a long stretch of coral reef in its area.
