VISION

To be one of Calbayog’s pride in food business

Rebelito’s Refreshment is registered as a sole proprietorship type of business under the ownership of Mrs. Preciosisima Chan Banzon (Baby Chan Banzon). It is already 50 years in food business and counting. Though it is under sole proprietorship, this business is a family owned business. It started sometime in 1963 by the parents of the owner selling “halo-halo” that was sold at 50 cents then. The family helped each other in the business. Later on it was passed on to their three children, who are current owners, sometime in the year 2000. Rebelito’s was derived in the names of the three children:Ricardo, Baby and lito.

As years go by, the variety of food they offered to the Calbayognon’s increases. In the year 1969, they started selling”dinuguan and puto”, “banana que” and other native snacks. They even improved their store. In 1972, they were able to put up a building in its current location. Sometime in the year 1994, they started producing and selling ”siopao. It became an instant blast to the growing customers of the store that they started consigning these “siopao” to terminals and other public congested places in Calbayog City. But sad to say, consignment did not do well to the store and even suffered losses since the consignee does not take good care of the quality of the product. With the fast growth of Calbayog City, they also follow. In 2003, they renovated their building to its present structure. Other restaurants opened and even food chains are within the business market of Calbayog, it was then in the year 2007, they offered rice meals to compete with the other existing food business and to adapt to the various changes of tastes and preferences of the consumers. Then on, they were adaptive to the new trends not just in providing variety of food to choose from but also to the physical structure of the store. Rebelito’s today is open from 8 o’clock in the morning to 7 o’clock in the evening, offering meals alongside with its ever delicious “halo-halo” refreshments and snacks which started it all.
