The Philippine Information Agency was created by virtue of Executive Order 100 dated December 24, 1986.
It is tasked to establish and maintain regional and provincial information centers to identify community needs for use in planning and providing communication programs and services; plan and implement information programs of national scope; and provide assistance to government agencies through capability-building and consultancy services.
It primarily serves the Presidency, the Executive Branch and Local Government Units with the ultimate goal of empowering the Filipino people.
