The Panaad Park and Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located inside the Panaad Park and Sports Complex in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Philippines. The stadium and the park span 25 hectares with about 60,000 eucalyptus trees.Panaad hosted various international sporting events particularly football when Bacolod co-hosted the 2005 Southeast Asian Games and the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup qualification against Mongolia. The stadium is home to Ceres-Negros F.C.HistoryConstructionThe construction of Panaad started in August 1997 during the term of Gov. Lito Coscolluela. It was finished in April 1998 and opened the following month to host the Centennial Palarong Pambansa.Aside from the football field, the stadium features a rubberized track, and the Sports Complex features an Olympic-size swimming pool, basketball court and other sports facilities. Surrounding these structures are cabanas.DevelopmentIn 1998, the construction of the stadium and sports complex paved the way for the establishment of the park that has become the permanent home of Panaad sa Negros.Occupying a large part of Panaad Park are the 32 booths — each either a replica of the town or the city’s icons or best products. All the 13 cities and 19 towns gather at the park to showcase their respective festivals, products and produce, songs and dances, arts and crafts. It features various sports and cultural contests, trade fair and exhibits, concerts, garden shows, and local pageants. The Negros Occidental Provincial Government saw a jam-packed Panaad Stadium with an estimated 20,000 crowd during the opening ceremonies of the 19th Panaad sa Negros Festival.
