Paltok Elementary was only an annex of San Francisco Elementary School before it was founded on October 24, 1962. The principal then was Mrs. Azusena Palilio with only fifteen teachers.
There were eight rented buildings scattered in the community. Santos Building and Abiad Building were in Matias Street, Guevarra Building in Guevarra Street, Bustamante Building in Zorra, Alvarez Building in Kundiman, Miranda Building in Anakbayan, Nautical Building in Aragon and Piga Building which was the main building in Ilagan Street.
After few years, Mrs. Bayan was assigned a head teacher in one of the annexes, the Miranda Building and became independent school which is now Bayanihan Elementary School.
Mrs. Palilio was transferred to Novaliches and Miss Moserrat Octaviano replaced her as principal of the school.
Several rented buildings were added to the school like Apura Building in Zorra, Francisco Building in Mendoza and Mijares Building in Kundiman.
Miss Octaviano was transferred to Project 6 Elementary School and Mr. Serafin Cruz became the principal in 1972.
With the help of the PTA President Emeterio Abiad, a corner lot along Matias and Mendoza Streets was acquired. Two Marcos type buildings were constructed and after several years, another Bagong Lipunan Building rose.
Mr. Herminio Abrina replaced Mr. Cruz who was transferred to San Bartolome Elementary School. Mr. Abrina was promoted and Mrs. Cresencia Fadul replaced him. After Mrs. Fadul, Mrs. Belen Seva became the principal and was later replaced by Mr. Mateo Tayamen. Mr Tayamen was transferred to Balingasa Elementary School and Mr. Perfecto Manansala replaced him.
Unfortunately, the buildings were razed by fire on May 11, 1985. We could not say if it was bad or a blessing because a 3-storey concrete building was constructed in 1986 with 12 classrooms and 3 ancillary services.
Mr. Manansala was promoted and was transferred to Ramon Magsaysay Elementary School. Mrs. Lilia Lazo was assigned principal and was transferred to Mines Elementary School.
A former teacher of Paltok, Mrs. Rosebell Siazon replaced Mrs. Lazo. She came from Damayan Elementary School.
Mrs. Siazon was transferred to Project 3 Elementary School and Mrs. Lilia Galvez became principal of the school for five years.
When Mrs. Galvez was transferred to Belarmino Elementary School, Mr. Gerry Isip replaced her. Mr. Isip was the school principal for seven months.
The third floor of the school building was gutted by fire on April 3, 2003. Three make shift buildings in Mendoza Street were constructed as temporary classrooms while construction of the school building was going on.
On May 2003 Mr. Isip was transferred to another school and he was replaced by Mr. Antonio Abletes.
This above narrative is the written account of one of the pioneer teachers of Paltok Elementary School, Mrs. Socorro Fabricante.
No further information could be attained from school records from 2003 up to present.
To establish an updated record of the school, the newly appointed principal, Mrs. Corazon P. Zinampan had to interview the three senior teachers who have been in Paltok for more than three decades. They are Mrs. Josefina S. Del Castillo, Mrs. Josefina I. Hernandez, Mrs. Soledad V. De Guzman.
According to them Mr. Abletes was replaced by Mrs. Liwanag Gloria followed by Juan Amormio Cabardo After that Mrs. Nancy R. Ebardaloza took over in 2010. After several months Paz P. Ramirez was assigned. She was followed by Mrs. Delia Sibulo who served only for one month, and then Mrs. Nancy R. Ebardaloza came back and served until May 2012. She was replaced by Mr. Eliseo D. Manaay Jr. who served the school from May 2012 to September 10, 2012.
At present, Mrs. Corazon P. Zinampan is at the helm of the school.
