Rationale
For over 13 years in working with street children, we have to come to understand the nature, culture, conditions, statistics and risks they are facing year after year. They appear happy and eager to please strangers as they beg and sell their rags or offer to clean your car. However, underneath the smile are hearts that are in great need of love and care.

These children sleep under bridges on card board boxes. Some of the children come from second generation street families in which there is no provision even for food each day. In some cases the children have been abandoned, others have experienced such terrible abuse in their homes that it has caused them to run away or in others they are on the street because their parents are in jail, abusing drugs and other habits, or have been killed due to execution or salvage.
Every year the population of children increases by huge amount.
There are 2.2 million street children and their number increases every year.
There are about 5.49 million Filipino children ages 5 to 17 years old have already experienced working. And about 2.99 million of them are engaged in hazardous labor in 2011.-Sun Star News
