The Iloilo National High School (formerly Iloilo High School) is a national government-funded institution under the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports (DECS). From her humble beginning in 1902, she has contributed a significant positive effect in carving Iloilo today. Rising from the challenges of the 21st century, she embarked a holistic approach to produce a world-class citizenry. In fact, through the dynamism of her principal, Dr. Riza Sargado-Amaguin, and the able support of her talented staff, six (6) schools, Special Science Class (SSC), Special Program for the Arts (SPA), School of the Future (SOF), School for Sports (SFS), Evening Opportunity Class (EOC), and Balik Paaralan Out-of-School Adult - High School (BP OSA-Hi) - were established aside from the regular class (NSEC).

• Special Science Class

Based on the premise that a student who is scientifically research-oriented could develop his maximum potential if given the proper training, the Iloilo National High School launched the Scientific and Technological Talent Development Program for deserving students from Iloilo as well as the neighboring provinces of Region VI.

The first Special Science Class in Western Visayas launched in 1989 to meet the scientific and technological manpower need of the country. Its consistent excellent academic performance as the No. 1 Science and Technology School among the 110 Science and Technology Network Schools of the DOST-SEI Project in the country since 1994 to the present inspired the division to put up Special Science Classes in the top performing schools of the Province of Iloilo.

• Special Program for the Arts

The FIRST School for the Arts outside Luzon which started in S.Y. 1997-1998 with the mission to pprovide training for the artistically inclined while providing basic secondary education. The major art fields offered are: dance, music, creative writing, theater, and visual arts.

• Class for the Performing Arts

A program implemented since S.Y. 1996-1997 designed to meet the needs of the students involved in Performing Arts such as the Dagyaw Theater and Dance Company and the Bola-Bola Tribe. The same basic education is offered with additional subjects such as Dance and Drama usually taken in the afternoon or in the evening.

• School of the Future

An innovation in Secondary Education implemented since S.Y. 1996-1997 which exploits information and technology in teaching basic secondary education by the use of Computer-Aided instruction to meet the demandsof the Information Technology Age.

• Regular Class

A secondary education program based on the New Secondary Education Curriculum of the DECS which prepares the bulk of students for college education.

• Special Class for Sports

The INHS Special Class for Sports is envisioned to serve as a channel in the implementation of the Sports Development Program of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) as mandated in the Philippine Constitution. Its proximity to the Iloilo Sports Complex makes the school an ideal site for the realization of this vision.

• Evening Opportunity Class

• Out of School Adults High School

Also known as the Balik-Paaralan Para sa mga Out of School Adult (BP-OSAHi) Program, this innovation provides out-of-school adults aged 20-45 to return to school to finish secondary education at their own pace and start small-scale business through the assistance of participating lending institutions. Five of its graduates were already granted by the DSWD with a starting capital. This program started in S.Y. 1996-1997.
