Young children learn best by doing things on their own. Real learning requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn firsthand about the world. This is what HUMBLE BUMBLES HOUSE OF LEARNING is up to; to let the children explore things by themselves and learn things through exploration.
Children use all their senses to explore the world around them. As they try out their ideas with concrete materials, they will learn about different things such as colors, sizes, shapes and relationship between things. In time, symbolic thinking begins. In class, the students work on blocks, making different designs on their own creative ways. They imagine a block or group of blocks to be something; a house, a motor cross design, a see-saw, etc. Moreover, they love to paint, color and scribble- so we encourage them. The students also learn through multimedia interactions. Children learn fast their basics like the ABC’s by hearing and singing the songs repeatedly. Books are provided in the book center to browse anytime they like. The pictures in them will help the children remember the story. In this way, their reading readiness is beginning to develop. These ways enable them to become able to use abstract symbols like words to describe their thoughts and feelings. This development will take place during early childhood through play.
