Harvest of Hope Foundation 3.06

Throughout the years of nurturing children with special needs, Harvest of Hope Foundation, Inc. has been part of every child’s milestone and progress. With that, the foundation is truly blessed for having these children who has a great role in expanding to us the true meaning of love and hard work in this kind of field. We all know that autism is a lifelong developmental disability that severely hinders the way information is gathered and processed by the brain, causing problems in communication, learning and social behaviors. In recent study, autism alone affects 1 in 88 children and is five times common in boys than girls. It cuts across the area of racial, ethnic, educational, social and economic background. Individuals with autism find it difficult to relate to environment and to communicate to other people. As a result, they tend to live in their own world and seek to find meaning in their confusion by performing repetitive movements. Far from being violent, individuals with autism are usually gentle, naïve and reserved.

With proper educational programs, individuals with autism can be taught to capitalize on their strengths and to compensate for their weaknesses. It is only when their disability is understood that they can be helped in to enhance their skills and minimize problem. Moreover, this is the reason why this institution was established, to be of help to children who has this kind of needs.
