The center is situated in a small family-owned property with stairwells leading into the water. Although more remote than your average destination, Romblon is a charming and friendly town well worth a visit. It’s not Boracay. It’s countryside. Water conditions are perfect for fishing, snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving and freediving. The marine sanctuary in front of the shop is perfect for snorkeling. Freediving is done a short swim away from the steps of the center. At high tide, our small & protected sandy beach turns into a clear swimming area ideal for dynamic training.

Dumagat Freedive is the first locally owned and operated freediving center in the Philippines. The center offers personalized freediving education using SSI training methods, materials and standards. We are dedicated to teaching you how to freedive confidently, comfortably and safely. Our teachers are all SSI certified instructors with current training in emergency response.

The name Dumagat refers to a tribe of semi-nomadic people living in the coastal areas of Luzon, Philippines. The closest English translation of the name would be sea-dwellers or sea gypsies. The name rings nice and goes with our desire to always be by the sea. Hence, the name Dumagat Freedive stuck. We are a freediving school that returns to the community through social welfare projects – from helping impoverished young children to supporting marine conservation.
