It all started with daily family "meriendas" (afternoon snacks) of banana cake that first got me interested in baking my own snack...

Actually, my mom used to bake when she was younger... She would bake loads of leche flans, upside down cakes and even boat tarts especially whenever there's an occasion... She laughingly remembers that whenever her mom (my gran) would bring her 10 trays of eggs, it generally means she has to bake a storm because my gran would be giving it away as gifts to friends and relatives...

One day, a cousin playfully poured water into every burner holes of my mom's oven... Because it was after some time before the oven was needed again, the water caused the oven to malfunction...Which ended my mom's baking days.. :(

Because ovens are really expensive, I started out my baking experiments using every household appliance I could get my hands into....steamer...oven toaster...turbo broiler...microwave....and even the waffle maker...

Finally, after a year of non-stop "baking" experiments, the folks were finally convinced that baking has become not just a hobby but a passion for me...And yes!!! They bought me a custom-made bakery oven for me to bake to my heart's content...

My determined efforts have eventually garnered a small following of "sukis" (repeat-customers)...thanks to my mom's untiring tele-marketing---calling her friends and our neighbors everytime I baked something...

After 10 years into homebaking, I finally ventured out as --DELIGRACE CAFE--and the rest as they say... is HISTORY... :D
