Ours is a story, which we hope will spark resiliency in the hearts of people who read this. It is not just an account of one family’s perseverance, but is a tale that every Filipino family, in one way or the other, can relate to. It is a tale of hardships and struggles, but it is also a story of success.

You could say that the C & Triple A business started twenty five years ago. In 1977, when Zon Aquino, in her desire to help her husband Alex make sure that her first born always had milk, put up an “Eggs for Sale” sign at their apartment’s gate, and convinced him to sell eggs to his officemates as well. In a span of two years, the neighborhood business grew into a market stall selling fresh eggs and chicken. With the start of the retail store, Mr. Aquino decided to resign from the Philippine National Bank and help Zon in their growing business. However, only a few months after they bought the market stall, the whole public market burned down.

After that horrific turn of events, and finding themselves unable to avail of financial assistance, the couple vended on the sidewalk, and Zon put her cooking skills to good use by selling Sisig and Barbecue in Burnham Park during the Boy Scout Jubilee. Although this was the most trying time for them, sheer passion and determination led them to get the business back on its feet.

In 1986, while Zon was pregnant with their second child, they were able to rent a 10 square meter space in the vicinity of the Public Market for a sari-sari store. This is where they first began to sell grocery items for the consumer’s everyday needs. When the killer earthquake struck in 1990, the whole City of Baguio was literally reduced to ruble, but the couple continued on, working every single day to recover from the catastrophe.

Leave it to Zon to spot opportunity in the midst of adversity. Because a number of businesses closed after the earthquake, she spotted a 20 square meter space in Zandueta Street. Slowly, their customer base kept on growing, and the couple was able expand the store as the years went by. The couple was on a path of steady recovery for ten years, and was ready to grow their business even further. With the infusion of new ideas from the couple’s kids and Zon’s sister, the string of innovations that started in 2006 has transformed the store into the supermarket that you are seeing today.

At present, the C & Triple A Group of Companies operates two supermarkets and three marketing and distribution companies.

On the first floor of our Supermarket, you will find your daily groceries, and our specialty sections like the Pharmacy, Monterey Meat Shop, Magnolia Chicken Station, Fresh Produce Section, Mr. Donut Kiosk, Bulakena’s Bibingka Kiosk, MAB Bread Republic, and the Promo Corner which features all items on promotion. Take the escalator to the second floor where we have included Housewares, Bakewares, Household Appliances, and a Customer Service Desk to provide the service which every valued customer deserves.
