Aling Banang's restaurant has been known to cater filipino dishes since 1930s. Urbana "Banang" Santiago with the help of her daughter Adoracion "Ising" Santiago-Mendoza used to sell rice cake "kakanin" in the old San Juan Market. Lola Ising saw the opportunity of entering into the world of restaurant industry so she invented her own recipe of Pansit, Palabok and Halo-Halo, thus "ALING BANANG EATERY" was born in Agora Market in San Juan City.
In December 1990, a fire broke down at Agora Market, leaving nothing to the family except for their secret recipe. During that time, the children of Lola Ising, opened their own branches in San Juan City which eventually became the city's Pride.
As time goes by, product innovation were done by the children of Lola Ising, thus the emergence of "Silogs, Sizzlers and Bulalo", carrying the Aling Banang's trademark of cooking and preparing delectable dishes upon order and by using only the freshest ingredients. Branches all over the Metro are still being put up for the continuity of the "Aling Banang Legacy".
