Inspired by the Multiple Intelligence Theory and the Reggio Emilia Approach, the Activity and Play Lounge believes that learning should not only be confined to children alone nor in the four walls of schools. Learning happens everywhere and anywhere and with anyone at any particular age and time. This process is especially at its peak when experienced with others. Reggio educators describe their approach to learning and teaching as a ‘pedagogy of relationships’ as it is founded on the conviction that we learn through making connections between things, concepts and experiences, and that we do so by interacting with other people and with our surrounding environment. Likewise, this learning is manifested in different ways through the Multiple Intelligences that each one imbibes. Learning happens differently for everyone. Thus, The Activity and Play Lounge aim to merge both philosophies to be able to contribute in molding relationships among parents, teachers and children, most especially.
