Marcas District 1.42

Marcas District is one of eight districts of the Acobamba Province in Peru.GeographyOne of the highest peaks of the district is Uma Kunka at approximately 4000m. Other mountains are listed below:Ethnic groupsThe people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (80.31%) learnt to speak in childhood, 19.33% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).
