La Chacra, which lovingly means “the farm” in Spanish, is a family owned and operated 50-hectares property in the Peruvian Amazon Basin with a focus on integrating tourism and social work.

The Paquay family enthusiastically welcomes intrepid travelers to their home, conveniently located just 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from the city of Iquitos, Peru, yet embedded far enough from the main road that La Chacra feels like a cove of undiscovered rainforest paradise.

La Chacra’s goal is to be a fully self-sustainable education center and safe haven where both visitors and local people can discover—and rediscover—the basic gifts of nature, the Amazon, and its indigenous customs and traditions while immersed in a natural jungle environment.

For visitors, staying at La Chacra is an unabashedly simple and unparalleled experience you won’t find at any other project based out of Iquitos.

However, La Chacra does not only exist to delight travelers. The family is also a passionate advocate for the local people, and their home is considered a refuge for those who need it most. As a guest, get involved on a grassroots level with La Chacra’s social projects which include educating underprivileged youth, inspiring independence within those in vulnerable situations, and reintroducing cultural pride among marginalized native groups.

Nos ubicamos a 12 km desde el aeropuerto de Iquitos al margen izquierdo hacia nauta por la carretera Iquitos - Nauta.

Contamos con una cocina regional (tushpa), frutas de temporada (mandarina, toronja, plátanos, carambola, mango, papaya, lucuma, y mas...), zona de camping, un estanque para actividades acuáticas, caminatas en la selva, talleres (carpintería, permacultura, costura, educación al respeto al medio ambiente...) y plataforma de intercambio de voluntarios en la zona de Iquitos.

También podrán participar en el desarrollo de un proyecto autónomo, defendiendo y enseñando valores esenciales de vida en una zona tan importante para el futuro ecológico, y humano del planeta.

Nous ne trouvons a 12km de l’aéroport d'Iquitos du cote gauche de la piste en direction Iquitos - Nauta.

Nos installations comportent, une cuisine régional (tushpa), fruits de saisons (mandarine, banane, mange, papaye, citron, café, noix de coco, et beaucoup d'autres), zone de camping, un étang pour pour différents types d activité aquatiques, trek dans la jungle, différents types d'ateliers (charpenterie, permaculture, sensibilisation a l environnement...). Mais aussi une plate forme d échange de volontaires (Woofing) dans la région d'Iquitos (Amazonie).
Vous participerez au développement d un projet autonome, essayant de défendre et enseigner des valeurs différentes et avec du sens dans une zone si importante pour l avenir écologique et humanitaire de la planète.
