Explorer's Inn Lodge was the first ecotourism lodge to be built in the region and is the only lodge situated fully within the boundary of the Tambopata National Reserve in the province of Madre de Dios. The lodge itself is located in a picturesque setting at the confluence of the La Torre and Tambopata rivers, 60 km upriver from Puerto Maldonado.
