The city of Chiquian is located 330km from the city of Lima via the Panamericana Norte, taking the branch between kilometers 206-207 (Paramonga), at Valle Fortaleza and to the other side of Lake Conococha at 4100 m.s.n.m. To the right some 30 km, where the Río Santa has its origen, you will encounter a beautiful city named Chiquián.
Located at 3350 m.s.n.m. and situated on the eastern flank of the Huayhuash mountain range, the interandina basin of the river Pativilca shares its natural beauty with landscapes of the river Aynin and the snow capped peaks of Yerupaja and Jirishanca, one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world for the practice of trekking, climbing, cycling, and hang-gliding.
Chiquián is the ideal place to visit, with asphalt roads of different circuits, picturesque villages, pre-Incan ruins and sanctuaries, and typical foods and drinks of the region to enjoy.
