Organic waste collection has finally arrived in the Bay of Plenty!

Why Waste is the new sustainability initiative aimed at addressing the huge percentage of organic matter (about a third!) in our waste stream.

We all know food waste (like banana peels) shouldn’t go in the bin. The same goes for other biodegradable stuff like coffee grinds, paper towels, leftovers, green waste, biodegradable packaging etc. When these things go to landfill, they anaerobically rot and release methane into the atmosphere (which is 23 times worse for the climate than carbon dioxide!), and that is only the beginning.

Why Waste is an ethical enterprise setting out to help the region reduce its’ impact on the earth by providing businesses (and events) the opportunity to reduce their waste to landfill.

Touch base with Why Waste to see how we can help your business become more sustainable.
