The Design School Whangarei 2.95

The Design School is a private school established in Palmerston North in 1993, with the aim of capturing creative talent and providing an opportunity for creative people to gain the skills and qualifications needed to enter design courses at diploma and degree level and then progress onto sustainable careers.

The School has continually held the highest quality rating from NZQA reviews and has some of the highest student outcome results in New Zealand.

With over 700 graduates, The Design School draws on a wealth of experience and many graduates have attained prestigious degrees and fulfilling careers.

Of particular note, one graduate has completed a PHD in Maori Visual Arts and recently won the Chorus "Taking Toi Maori to Times Square" competition which is featured in the Chorus Fibre Network television commercials. Another, a level 2 student, became the youngest ever finalist at Westfield Style Pasifika for 17 year olds.

Throughout the courses, students can undertake commercial design projects through UM design, the commercial unit of the School and add real life projects to their portfolio and strengthen their future options.

Students also have the opportunity to display and sell their work in the Design School Gallery, in Palmerston North. This is an opportunity for current students and graduates to showcase their creativity and launch their design careers.
