A beautiful historic (1857) home with a spellbinding view encompassing the harbour entrance and Tasman Bay. In the west 2 mountain ranges contribute to dramatic sunsets.
We'll use this page for more personal stuff. Please see www.tepunawai.co.nz for further information on the lodge.
Richard & James are experienced hosts who describe their MO as relaxed/jocular. We love sharing this magical place.
Our favourite quote on our hosting was left by a TripAdvisor member 22 March 2006:
"We travel a lot and have never before enjoyed such a unique environment where the line between commercial accommodation and "staying with friends" has been so successfully blurred."
Richard was born & schooled in Nelson & further educated himself over many years of travelling - picking up another 5 languages on the way.
James spent his 1st 12 years in Fiji & calls himself a "colonial mongrel", having a few generations of family raised there & in India. Technology - computers, gadgets, machines - crank his crank.
Our relationship is analogous to that of the biggest cinema duo of all time - Star Wars' C-3PO & R2-D2.
More to come (yeah, right :)
