I have 22years experience working with individuals and families, empowering and uplifting them from a state of welfare dependency into an independent, self-empowered and self-actualised state of being. While i haven’t formally worked in this particular field and area of suicide, I don’t see suicide as being the main area of concern, but rather one of the many results and symptoms that present externally for the multitude of underlying issues that are dis-empowering our people. The real mahi is required at the root causes and level. To me, this is suicide prevention.

While I’ve been VERY fortunate with DR Candy Cookson-Cox in Suicide Intervention & Prevention, she merely validated and confirmed for me everything I had already learnt and gained along my life journey around abuse, depression, anxiety, suicide and the many cycles that continue to hold people in a state of hopelessness, helplessness & languishing. This validation and confirmation aligned me more with my purpose.

My passion is about the health & wellbeing of all people, on ALL levels and I aim to inspire, encourage, motivate and work WITH people to realise their pure potentiality using my own unique methods and ways of working in a tailored way that suits each individual and whanau.

I choose to not work within a system or for the system again as the regulations, expectations and measured outcomes limit the ability to work with people in the way people need. I’m not bound by funding in any way, nor do i have to follow what anyone else says. I’m not in this for money, i’m in this for the love and passion i have for a better future for our people.
