Welcome to the home of Wellington’s Premier Swim Run and Open Water Swimming Series. Beginner or Pro, we have something for everyone. Held every second Wednesday after work, December - March at Freyberg Beach on Oriental Parade. Race your heart out, or just toe the start line and have some fun. We promise you quality, safety, and a smile on your face. Each night you have a number of swim and run or swim only distance options available to you. These change throughout the season, some nights favouring the Swimmers, and some nights favouring the Runners. Simply select your distances when you register, keeping in mind that each night there is a ‘Premier Distance’ for which merit prizes and series points are awarded (these are always the longest swim and run options). All participants, no matter what distance you complete in, go in the draw for our spot prizes. Novices - may just want to see if this Splash and Dash thing is for you, maybe you want to try a couple before graduating to the longer distance, or perhaps you just haven’t been off the couch for a while .... Whatever the reason, the Novice event is designed to be non threatening, safe, and fun. Phil Rush and his highly trained team in the Safety Boats will have an eagle eye on you as you cruise out to the raft and back, never venturing further than 75m from the shore...then it’s just a bit of a waterfront jog to the finish line. We want to cater for your needs so each week we will have a quick talk before the swim start to confirm the run distance and hear any last minute concerns. Some of you may want to mix and match with a novice swim and the longer run distance...that’s ok too. This may even be a good way to get some of you very young budding athletes started - just check with us if you are not sure if this is the event for you
