The South Canterbury Aviation Heritage Centre was formed to record the history of aviation in the South Canterbury area. Flying activity took place in the early 1900s when Richard Pearse built his first aircraft . Since then many airmen and other men , women and aircraft have had illustrious performances in aviation. The Heritage centre was formed to record the historical record of aviation in South Canterbury.

You can help achieve this by becoming a volunteer. Age is no barrier neither are aviation skills. If interested phone 03 615 8482

. THE CENTRE IS OPEN FROM 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm ON TUESDAY ALL YEAR AND SUNDAYS. ADMISSION $5.00. Adults $5.00 Children $2.00 SCHOOL AND OTHER GROUPS BY ARRANGEMENT.

VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED> TUESDAYS FROM 1.00 pm - 4.00 pm.

STATIC DISPLAY AIRCRAFT include The Pearse Tribute Aircraft, Sopwith Pup,Wright Glider,Olympian Sailplane, Ultralight Flight Mirage, Benson Autogyro, Chipmonk, Tiger Moth,Skycraft Scout, and an Easy Rider. A 1930s's Primary Zogling Glider replicar is in the final stage of construction. ,
