Botulinum toxin (BTX) is used for three main purposes: muscle spasm control, severe underarm sweating and cosmetic improvement. The main ingredient in Botulinum toxin (BTX) is a neurotoxin, it’s the active ingredient that contains botulinum toxin type A (the active ingredient), human albumin (a protein found in human blood plasma) and sodium chloride. Human albumin is a common protein in blood plasma which is produced by the liver. Sodium chloride is basically salt. The toxin in question is made by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum which is extracted using a fermentation process.
