Welcome to Rimunui Station.

Scott & Julayne Thompson with their two children Charlotte and Lachlan farm this scenic hill country station 40km up the Waitotara Valley with beautiful views of Mount Taranaki and Mount Ruapehu.

Their passion is to farm profitably and sustainably whilst preserving its history and environment for future generations to enjoy.

They would love to share this experience with you!

Nearly all of Rimunui’s land area was farmed back in 1890 but now regenerated native bush covers over 2800 hectares with 600 hectares as a working farm. In addition to farming, Rimunui is a remote adventure destination for horse trekking, tramping, farm stays, walkers, scout groups, school camps, international visitors and families to come and enjoy.

Rimunui has a variety of accommodation available: from the lovingly restored (to its former glory by current owners in 2009) early 1900’s woolshed and the farm cottage plus several huts are scattered around the hills in native bush surroundings.
