Putiki Wharanui Te Kohanga Reo is a small, marae-based Kohanga Reo, catering for children from 6 months to five years. We offer quality education and superior care in a friendly, supportive, whanau-orientated environment.

We have exceptional carer to child ratios and a well resourced learning area. We welcome children and their families from all ethnic backgrounds to attend our kohanga. We encourage and actively support our whanau to develop and foster their understanding of Te Reo Maori me ona Tikanga for themselves and their tamariki.

Low weekly fees.
Dual Qualifications – Early Childhood Diploma and Whakapakari trained teachers.

“Kopa Tuakana” for four year olds to develop their skills and knowledge-base in preparation for school. There is a strong focus on literacy and numeracy in Te Reo Maori.

Flexibility for working parents.

NZQA Accredited Training opportunities and support to enable parents to up-skill themselves.

20 hours free care (ECE Programme) for all children over 3 years old.

WINZ Subsidy accredited.
