Experience delicious cuisine and outstanding service at Dunedin's newest restaurant - Parcels Restaurant at Distinction Dunedin Hotel now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

As you would expect in a 4.5-star luxury hotel, the dining experience is a top priority.

Executive Chef, Hannes Bareiter is talented both as a Chef and a Kitchen Manager. Having graduated in Germany at the School of Hotel Management in 1999, Hannes went on to earn a Hospitality Business Administrator’s Degree in 2008 and a Master’s Degree in Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management, graduating in 2009.

His training ground was the Restaurant "Kaiserhof" alongside Executive Chef Markus Buchholz, in a restaurant famous for its classic food and extensive wine cellar. He worked in Cologne at the Hyatt Regency’s 5 Star hotel before a stint in Bilbao, Spain, where he created gourmet cuisine based on the produce and traditional recipes of the Basque region.

Hannes’s first New Zealand experience was at the 4.5 star Raetihi Lodge in the Kenepuru Sound, where he was Executive Chef for two summers developing a passion for the New Zealand cuisine and culture.

After opening & running a Restaurant in Munich with famous Michelin Star Chef Stefan Marquard, he decided to come back to New Zealand

His most recent experience prior to joining the team at the Distinction Dunedin Hotel's Parcels Restaurant was 4 years as Executive Chef in the 5 star luxury Resort Bay of Many Coves in the Queen Charlotte Sound.
