New Zealand National Schools Chorus 2.24

The NZNSC is for New Zealand school students between 11-18 years of age (their age as at the 1st January in the respective year they wish to join). All of our members begin their journey in our weekly classes where they work with our experienced vocal coaches and choir directors who in turn train, mentor and further develop the singing skills of all NZNSC members.

We aren’t a traditional choir, we concentrate on singing modern/pop music and strive to create a fun environment the whole time…..…….think “Glee Club” on a nationwide level!

Each year a popular NZ artist will be invited to perform with the NZNSC in concert. Leading up to each concert the NZNSC members will learn and rehearse the material that will be sung at the concert where they will perform with, and alongside, the popular NZ artist.

The NZNSC is a burgeoning NZ icon, whilst still in its infancy; the NZNSC will play a pivotal role in nurturing choral talent from within the NZ school system. Apart from enhancing their natural abilities, an emphasis will be placed on making members of the NZNSC more aware of society’s issues and developing their "community spirit" by being involved with various NZ charities, community groups and our corporate sponsors.

Each year a minimum of ten (10) fully paid NZNSC scholarships will be awarded to talented youths from lower socio-economic backgrounds, with at least half of the scholarships awarded to Maori students. Our approach and commitment to the training and the mentoring of youth of all ages includes making extra opportunities available to those who excel, awards will be presented to a select number of members each year who show outstanding potential.
