My name is Rochelle Hyland,
I am a highly experienced ECE practitioner and mother of two here in sunny Papamoa. I am fully Registered with the Teachers Council (current) and have been teaching 0-6 years olds for 15 years here in the Bay of Plenty. I have worked in an array of settings acting in managerial and supervisory roles within the Montessori sector of ECE. My latest role before having my son in August 2016 I was the leading Head Directress for a local Montessori preschool where I delivered a high standard of education and care for up to 40 families and children aged 6 months to 4 years. I feel that the time has come for me to work in the home where I can be close to both of my children whilst caring for your little ones.

I have the ability to reach the hearts and minds of young children with my love and nurture and through providing a stimulating and warm home environment that supports your growing child's learning and development.
My belief is that children flourish in environments where they are provided the tools and positive guiding support to act automonsly and freely in their learning setting.

I support your child's growing independence and concentration through involving your child in many pracitcal home life activites. Acitvities can include practice to dressing ones self, helping out with home life daily tasks such as pegging washing, washing up, gardening, baking, cooking skills, wiping tables, dusting, polishing, use of books / reading, sewing, folding washing and pairing, window washing.
Aside from this I will also encompass some classroom like life skills that will help your child to recognise their name, use pencils/pens, gluing and sticking, paint and art work as well as certain manipulatives like blocks and connecting materials.

My home enables freedom of movement for your child with an open plan for maximum supervision.

I am insprired to integrate many aspects of the Montessori curriculum along with a harmonious balance of mainstream education.
I love how the Montessori approach empowers children to take care of their basic needs through practical life activity in which will be my core focus within my home for your child.

I also offer a wide range of support to help educate my families on positive child rearing practices helping to translate Montessori's insights into the 21st century and beyond.

My application to the Ministry or Education to become a new licensed home based early childhood service in accordance with the Early Childhood Regualtions 2008 is now in motion and I look to be able to offer 20 free ECE hours and Oscar subsidies to my famlies by March 2017.
