Birth and Newborn Photography was started in 2014 by Tamara Milldove.

Tamara loves nothing more than getting behind the lens to work her magic. Ever since she got her very first camera in college she’s been hooked.

Living in Palmerston North, New Zealand, Tamara has a beautiful son who inspires her everyday to do this work she loves so much. Being able to capture unique moments in people’s lives that they can treasure forever is what drives her.

Over the years Tamara has experimented with many different types of photography, but when she started doing pregnancy, birth and newborn imagery, she knew she had found her true passion. Her expertise lies in her ability to capture those candid moments that express deep emotion of a human connection. Your photo shoot will be relaxed and your imagery real.

Your pending birth of your precious wee gem is top of mind with Tamara as she’s very well aware she often needs to drop everything to be at your birth. Her commitment to produce stunning imagery, and to do whatever it takes to be where she needs to be is what she prides herself on.

Being at the birth of your baby is such an honour for Tamara. She is very careful to be discreetly in the background on the day, not invading or disturbing your sacred space or process in any way. She’s good at this. She has even had clients say they had forgotten she was even there – so that is proof!

Telling your story through beautiful memories is something Tamara finds very heart-warming. She loves the fact that families have a lifetime of special moments to enjoy. Working with families in the Manawatu region (based in Palmerston North), Tamara can also be present at Lower Hutt, Kenepuru (Porirua), Paraparaumu or Wellington hospitals.
