Lūno Chandlery 1.98

Inspired by a love of ancient crafts and some solid hours on Pinterest, Lûno Chandlery was started early 2017 as a venture outside of work to make ends meet and have a bit of fun.

We're big fans of history so of course we had to name our business with this term!

The Ancient Roman celebration of Saturnalia held in honour of the deity, Saturn is strongly association with gifts of candles and wax figurines. The festival also had a strong theme of overturning social norms. This all sounded pretty great to us since our work is a bit of an escape from the average concept of work but 'Saturnalia is a bit of a mouthful so...

According to legend Saturn had a few children and one of them is called Jûno (Lûno by the Latin spelling and we're all about the Ancient History). The name Jûno is associated with youth and being a new company it seemed a good fit and it sounds alright too!
