The Space

We life on a 6 acre block in a large, modern strawbale home, with grass roof, solar energy and composting toilets.
The recently finished, 4 guest bedrooms are spacious and comfortable all with separate entrance and patio. 2 bedrooms share 1 bathroom.
This listing is for bedroom ONE.
The main house features a large farmhouse kitchen, dining room and lounge and various areas for alfresco eating. Our bedroom and our private lounge is located upstairs.
There are gardens, an orchard / food forest, 2 glasshouses, walks and shaded places to reflect, all in various stages of completion.

Guest Access

You share the main house with us and other guests and we often share meals – this is entirely optional.
There is a laundry and washing line and we encourage everyone to make the most of the outside areas.
There are also 2 bicycles that are available for trips to Kinloch and to explore the many, lovely trails.

Interaction with Guests

We enjoy talking to our guests, but can be involved as much or as little as you like.
It is a big house and even bigger property and staying out of each others way is not hard.

The Neighbourhood

Our home is on a 6 acre block 3 km outside Kinloch,the area is quiet, private and safe, with lovely views of the surrounding hills.
Close by you find beautiful walking and biking trails, fishing access, and a beach for swimming.

Getting around

It is a 20 minute drive to Taupo by car and 3 minutes to Kinloch and the Lake.
There are two bicycles available for guest use. Secure parking is available close to the rooms, bicycles can be stored in the barn.

Other Things to Note

We love cooking and are happy to prepare healthy, reasonable, home cooked meals for our guest by arrangement.
