My story : In the past 12 years I had joined 2 other Network Marketing companies, both involved in the telecommunications industry. Both companies were offering solutions to common problems at the time, that was the high cost of calling mobile to mobile and/or fixed-line networks on a per minute basis. However being involved in the telco industry in my day job, I knew that paying per minute for phone calls would soon disappear. Data Only would be the future.

I gave up because my passion for their products was zero.

Through some bad investment decisions and Microsoft pulling the plug on their small business IP voice software, I found myself taking a break from telecommunications.

I then found a couple of opportunities to become involved with marketing companies that offered great experience but also the chance to work in SEO and online marketing. Awesome, I jumped in boots and all and then something unexpected happened. I was working with smart young people, millennials and even younger but I was suddenly OLD.

Age really hadn't been a problem in the past but suddenly I was 62 and spending my days in the company of young people. I fitted in as well as possible but Gandalf was the name they gave me. I dress reasonably young to try and feel younger than my actual age but in photos especially I looked so much older.

Then a light-bulb moment occurred.

I have used facial creams and moisturisers for over 30 years, tried many popular brands, expensive and not so much. Even resorted to making my own creams and anti-ageing solutions. This became a bit of a sideline hobby, reading about the latest trends, the latest miracle oils and formulating my special blends.

FACT : People like myself are going to live much longer because of modern pharmaceuticals, I have already suffered heart attacks, had a quadruple bypass operation, have insulin dependent diabetes but all is controlled and managed by modern drugs so I can continue with a normal lifestyle. 50 years ago I would be dead by now.

So there's the problem... we will all be living longer and working longer but we won't be looking any younger and that could result in feeling unaccepted or bypassed in the workplace unless we own the business and don't really care.
