Historically a deer farm, Hooper's Lodge is set on a 100 acres of the Otago Peninsula. This is a newly built, architecturally designed, luxurious and totally unique relaxing place to stay. Offering you a very private self-contained two bedroomed wing known as The Bothy which is fully separated from the main house, but yet part of our family home if you so wish. You have your own entrance and a large private deck to enjoy the fantastic uninterrupted views of Harbour Cone, Hooper's Inlet and out to the ocean. Sitting on your private deck you can see both seals and sea lions lolling around in the water and even the majestic spoonbill feed at the gate.
Located on the stunning Otago Peninsula (the Wildlife Capital of New Zealand) yet only 20 minutes from Dunedin City, Hooper's Lodge is tastefully decorated with New Zealand furnishing and eclectic kiwi artworks. The whole accommodation is spacious and has the advantage of the sun throughout the day. There are two comfortable large bedrooms both with double in-built wardrobes, each opening into the stylish open plan living area with room to dine or simply watch a DVD on the flat screen TV or just read a book in front of the fire. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave and fridge too. Your separate bathroom has a claw foot roll top bath to soak away the pressures of the day as well as a large shower. The large bedroom has a luxurious queen bed whilst the second bedroom has either one or two single beds which upon request can be made up to a double. If you require an additional bedroom, there is the option of a very large bedroom within the main house with a mahogany queen sleigh bed and large ensuite bathroom too. In these busy times your holidays are precious and we understand that you need your privacy, freedom and space. At Hooper's Lodge you will find everything that you need for a comfortable and pleasurable stay. With plenty of local attractions including New Zealand's only castle at Larnach, the Royal Albatross Colony, the Yellow-Eyed and the Little Blue penguins not to mention the Hooker Sea lions right on your doorstep. Organised tours can be arranged or you can simply unwind and relax taking a leisurely stroll around the 100 acres, say hello to our horses then return to the Bothy and sit on the sun drenched deck with a glass of fabulous New Zealand wine.
