Our Fire and Emergency New Zealand team of firefighters and support crew are proud to be taking part in the Extreme Walk 2 D’Feet MND to raise awareness of motor neurone disease (MND). We are going to be walking from Palmerston North to Wellington, from Friday 10 November to Sunday 12th November – 170km in total!

If you see us walking past be sure to come out and give us a wave and cheer us on!

We will finish our walk in Wellington on Sunday 12 November by joining up with the local Wellington Walk 2 D’Feet MND.

So why not get a team together and join in on your local walk? Shorter (up to 5km) events are being held all over New Zealand on Sunday 12 November. You can start your own fundraising page to support the team’s efforts. To find your region’s walk, visit mnda.org.nz/walk and click the location nearest you for more information, and to register.

We encourage other firefighters around New Zealand to walk in your local Walk 2 D’Feet MND and to start your own fundraising page to support our efforts. Simply click the yellow ’Start Fundraising’ button above. In just a few minutes you can create your page, then start sharing the link with your friends, family and colleagues. It's a great way to show your support or honour the memory of a loved one.

Half of the funds we raise will go towards supporting MND research in New Zealand, and the other half will go to MND New Zealand to continue its crucial work providing support for people with MND, their whanau and health professionals.
