ART HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS - Escape & Create holiday workshops provide children with the opportunity to nurture their creativity in a safe & secure environment with tutors who are passionate about art.

We believe that art is critical in the development of a child and thus provide children with the opportunity to experiment with a variety of mediums and creative applications. We believe that valuable learning takes place through discovery, therefore through guided and age appropriate art activities we encourage the children to explore and extend their creative abilities all the while having lots of fun.

Each day is a stand-alone day where children start and finish their art and are able to take their creation home. All materials are included!

ABOUT NIKKI:
Nikki is a mother of three children aged 4, 10 and 11.5 years. She is passionate about art, crafts & education and values the importance of art as an integral part of a child’s development. She understands that children naturally love art and so she places great importance in fostering that creativity. She is degreed in Fine Art with many years of experience in art making, chalkboard artistry and graphic design. She taught art in a Primary School in South Africa and recently completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching at the University of Waikato.

Nikki’s favorite applications are multi-media, painting, sculpture & drawing and with this she has a strong focus on incorporating recycled materials into the art making process. She enjoys the use of vibrant colours in her work and appreciates attention to detail.

Nikki loves working with children of all ages and finds much satisfaction in seeing how children make sense of their environment through art making.

She has been a stone sculptor for 18 years but is passionate about many forms of art including painting, sewing, craft and woodwork but also constantly learning new skills to independently create at a whim! It is very important to her to be able to make her own resources from scratch for whatever project is on the go, she is very focused on recycling , creating beautiful things from up-cycled materials - keeping art and creativity sustainable and interesting!

She truly loves working with children, especially in an art/craft sense and is inspired by their natural ability and free thought that they apply to their art work.
