The Craigieburn Trails originated on the ground in 2010 when the Hogs Back Track, an intermediate, mixed-use, mountain-bike trail, was constructed by volunteers to link Castle Hill Village to the Cheeseman Ski Field Road in Canterbury, New Zealand.
There are now more than 30km of sweet single-track in the Castle Hill Basin and through Craigieburn Forest Park through a wide variety of landscapes surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.
The tracks are managed under the auspices of the Castle Hill Community Association in partnership with the Department of Conservation, and the community recognises the support of other organisations/companies such as Ground Effect Cycle Clothing, Fonterra Grass Roots Fund, Trail Fund NZ, T5 Contracting, etc.
