Colette has been a registered nurse for over forty years, working in a variety of settings both in New Zealand and overseas, including acute medical surgical, emergency and paediatric nursing as well as community health. During this time, Colette taught student nurses at Otago Polytechnic both in the classroom and in their hospital and community placements. A firm believer in clinical supervision as a method of problem solving practice issues, Colette offers confidentiality, a safe environment and active listening skills in order to create an opportunity for clinicians to reflect and to look at practice situations and circumstances, in an objective way. Clinical supervision also provides clinicians with an opportunity to explore safety and ethical issues and to feel and be supported.
