The Centre for Educational Development is a community of skilled and experienced facilitators providing schools and related organisations with highly effective professional learning and development through “shifting learning” via a teacher inquiry model. Select your preferred learning style from our cluster groups, courses and workshops. We will also work with you to customise a professional learning plan specific to your school's staff development needs.
For over 23 years, Massey University’s Centre for Educational Development has been providing high quality professional learning and development for early childhood services and primary and secondary schools throughout New Zealand.
Our goal is to transform learning and teaching experiences for all. By working in partnership with your school/early childhood service and local community, our dedicated and experienced facilitators will develop a specifically tailored advice and support programme to meet your needs. To find out more about our facilitators, visit our Meet the Team section.
Using a Teaching as Inquiry model supported by research-informed practice, current professional reading and the wider educational community, our areas of expertise include:
Principal appraisals
advice and support for Senior and Middle leaders
advice and support for Provisionally Registered Teachers and Overseas Trained Teachers
developing strategic and annual plans
the use of technology to engage learners in the 21st Century classroom
advice and support for Teen Parent Units
Throughout the year we also offer a range of courses, workshops and facilitated cluster meetings to further enhance teachers’ professional learning.
Details of these offerings will be sent to schools by email, post or downloadable in pdf format from the Courses/Workshops section of this site.
