Raised in North Yorkshire, the only thing brewer and owner Ross, missed from his days in blighty was a hand pulled beer in the local, where the same faces prop up the bar and everyone knows your name. Not long after arriving in New Zealand he began his mission to introduce and convert his new mates one home brew at a time, with a beer engine his mum brought over in her suitcase when she visited. Nine years on, he still has a passion for hand pulled beer (and a bigger collection of beer engines), but also likes to brew other things.

Ross has begged time away from his wife and family, borrowed equipment from generous friends, pulled favours, wrestled a dairy farmer, bribed a plumber... all in the name of creating this newly opened small 200 litre brewery to bring the people in his community and surrounding area great quality craft beer.

Quality over quantity, community over large-scale, brewed using only local and NZ ingredients. A penchant for the traditional, with an enquiry of the new. We believe in crafting the right beer for the right time influenced by the seasons, the people and the occasion.
