I was in a life that wasn't good for my well being. I was stressed all the time. I was busy all the time. I was unhealthy. My business and family were suffering because I was stuck in this cycle of do, do, do like a mouse on a wheel. I felt that if I just kept my head down and kept going that someday I would get to the end and it would all be ok. Wrong! I had to make the hard choice to close my retail business down after 11 years. It hurt. However, I knew in my heart and soul that it was the best decision to make. My children, their well being and my sanity was far more important than a store or money.

As mothers, we often put ourselves last. We sacrifice for our kids and put far too much pressure on ourselves to be the most successful business woman, the best domestic goddess, the best sports Mum, the best manager of our lives. It's all a load of rubbish if you don't have your health, your soul and the respect of your children.

Since closing my store I have been going through a transformation of sorts. Creating and living life to a new schedule that is far more realistic. My health took a dive after my store closed. All of the pressure of what I had been holding together: running a business, looking after 3 children, running a household and attempting to be healthy came crashing down. I was sick for over 2 months. It was like my body had a hit of cortisol (stress) that it couldn't recover from. I was free from my business but my body had shut down. I was finally able to exercise and take care of myself but nothing seemed to be working.
